Draft - legal ordination

Ordination Certificate

The Community Miracles Center is an official recognized "Church" organization with an approved ordination program recognized by the State of California and the United States Of America. CMC ministers have all rights and privileges of ministers anywhere and can put the "Reverend" title in front of their names. This program was designed by the co-founder of the Community Miracles Center Rev. Tony Ponticello and has been running continuously for 35 years. The CMC ordination program takes a minimum of two years to complete.

Ordination

There are many organizations which offer Ordination programs and students should be aware that some, although "well-meaning," may not actually legally have the right to do so. In the service of prospective candidates everywhere the CMC has decided to make all it's organization documents public. Please click on the appropriate link to view the legal documents. Please call for any further clarification.

1. Articles of Incorporation Secretary of State of State of California dated Feb. 9, 1987 (Shows Church intended purpose)
2. Recognition Letter Franchise Tax Board State of California dated Jun. 17, 1987 (Shows legal Church status)
3. Recognition Letter Internal Revenue Service U.S.A. dated Jan. 8, 1988 (Shows 501[c]3 Public Charity status)
4. Amendment to Articles Secretary of State of State of California dated Jan. 14, 1998 (Shows name change)

ACIM-1 (first year of ordination program)

This class studies the Text of A Course In Miracles in a systematic structured way - there is a schedule. The text for this class is the ACIM Original Edition published by the Course In Miracles Society (also known as the "Pearl" Edition). The class is easily available to ACIM students all over the world via Zoom. The Text is read aloud in class. After each section the floor is open for discussion. The cost of the first year is $624 (call for Supporting Member pricing), payable in installments at 10 week intervals.   Students can join at any time, but we always begin the Text the first week of the new year.   ACIM-1 is complete when the student has attended 52 consecutive weeks of class. After successful completion of ACIM-1 students are certified "A Course In Miracles Practitioners Of The Community Miracles Center." These CMC Practitioners are eligible to enroll in ACIM-2.

ACIM-2 (second year of ordination program)

ACIM-2 is also a year long class. This class studies the Workbook of A Course In Miracles using the ACIM Original Edition (the "Pearl" EditionThe ACIM-2 curriculum also includes: Manual For Teachers, Clarification of Terms, Psychotherapy: Purpose Process And Practice and Song Of Prayer. The cost for ACIM-2 is $859, which includes the supporting membership fee. The fee is payable in installments at 10 week intervals at which time the student conforms that they wish to continue. ACIM-2 is completed one the date of the formal ordination ceremony.  Students can join at any time, but we always begin the Workbook the first week of the new year.

This class requires more of a time commitment than ACIM-1. Students have rotating lesson partners. This requires a commitment to a daily phone call with an assigned fellow student for the reading of the Workbook Lesson of the Day. Students also have a year long service commitment to complete a project that directly benefits the Community Miracles Center. After successful completion of ACIM-2, students are certified "A Course In Miracles Ministers Of The Community Miracles Center." They are then legal "Pastoral Counselors" and can perform legal weddings.

Cost of the Program

Students may pay more or less for the programs by agreement with the instructor.  Payments are made by installments at 10 week intervals at which time the student confirms their commitment to continue.
