Rev. Tony can start working on a final accounting for the cancelled 2020 Los Angeles Conference now that the 2nd quarter financials are completed. There is an added complexity since 92 have transferred registration to 2021 in Washington D.C. All the refunds have been issued. The $41,458.15 remaining in "Predicted Liability for L.A." can be transferred to Washington D.C. which means the Profit and Loss Statement statement has already expensed this amount from what has been taken in, as if it had already been paid. On the Balance Sheet it is seen as a liability - a bill owed.
Supporting Member Report:
Currently 85 Supporting Members — $4,941.66 / month pledged, average $58.14 / member (net loss of 8, loss of $180 / month)
Gained 1: Natalie Ullmann
Lost 9: Rev. Pat Mawson, John Dunlop, Robert Lester, Rev. Linda Chappo, Rev. Mark Griffith, Rev. Lisbett Christensen, Rev. Rita Weikal, Bill Free, Dr, Dana Marrocco
Rev. Tony has communicated with many of them and went through the reasons we were told. Mostly these are financial and/or participating elsewhere reasons. Opinions were expressed that this is natural considering the Covid19 Pandemic and therefore expected. An opinion was expressed that Rev. Tony's Facebook posting could be a factor.
Rev. Tony believes the prevailing social climate is not working in our favor. People are concerned about their finances, some have had income reductions. Many are worried and depressed. This is not a good climate for us as people retract when anxious and don't want to extend themselves into "risky and liberal" thought systems. They tend to retreat to well established "safe and conservative" viewpoints. ACIM is very "avant garde," and we do better when things are "good."
Healing Team Report
Currently 51 Members - 60% of Supporting Members
A greater percentage of those who have stayed Supporting Members are on the Healing Team which is why the Healing Team % has gone up. Plus, the member who as added joined the Healing Team.

Thursday "LGBTQ & Beyond" continues on Zoom - Rev. Peter
Friday "The Bridge to Heaven" continues on Zoom – Rev. Tony
This meeting is only 1 hour. We could add another meeting before or after if we found the right CMC Minister to do it. Some attendees might stay, or come earlier. Rev. Kim said she would seek guidance on this.
Saturday ACIM Class continues on Zoom - Rev. Rudy
Rev. Rudy is planning to broadcast his Zoom Class simultaneously on Facebook Live. He is working out the technology. There was a tech problem on Saturday July 25. Hope to be successful on Saturday Aug. 1.
Some facilitators are not getting their people to contribute.
All in-person classes will continue using Zoom Video Conferencing while we have "Shelter-in-Place" in affect. Friday "Bridge to Heaven" will remain Zoom indefinitely.
ACIM-2 Ministerial Projects
Margarita Marinkovich – Done with program and ready to be ordained
David Brunn – Done with program and ready to be ordained
Anthony Bopp – Done with program and ready to be ordained
Garrick Wilhelm – Done with program and ready to be ordained
Deb Canja - Deb is not feeling like she can do her project right now. Lingering after effects of her recent medical situation are troubling. Rev. Tony will suggest she do a full article for Miracles Monthly about the current CMC Board. Deb C. would call each Board member to talk about their practice and application. Approved.
Paula Carpe – Successfully facilitating her ACOL class
Brian Patacca - Is doing Facebook Live videos. He has agreed to do 12 during the year
Elaine Turner – Will write 3 short articles about long term CMC Supporting Members for Miracles Monthly.
Garrick has an idea for an outdoor in-person ordination. He contacted Rev. Vincent to discuss possibility. We would need to limit it to 12 people, all social distanced, and all wearing masks at all time. There are travel bans in place that could limit people from coming here as they might have to quarantine for 2 weeks. Plus, some would not come to take part even if it were possible. A Zoom ordination for a Sunday Gathering could be unlimited in attendance, and no masks, we could sing and possibly have a Special Musical Guest. Board decided to do a Zoom ordination. Rev. Tony will plan.
Rev. Kim expressed an interest in doing a free/donation ACOL Zoom meeting. Tabled for later discussion.
Sunday Gathering Report:
There have been no in-person meetings since the last Board Meeting. The Zoom meetings are having between about 16 to 20 people. Some money has been collected. The technology has been working well and David Brunn is helping with the text chats. We didn't start collecting attendance data about these meeting at first but are doing so as of July. Length of the Gathering was discussed. They are running too long. Announce that people should limit shares to 2 minutes. Also speakers need to be more conscious of their time. Suggestion to not place the Prayer/Healing list entries in the chat. This would save time. Rev. Tony will work on these.
CMC Publishing Inclusive Language Version of ACIM (The Original Edition):
Rev. Kelly has produced a sample of some of Chapter 1. Rev. Tony hasn't had time to look at it in-depth yet.
Rev. Kelly has notified us she wants to totally quit working for the CMC by the end of August. Rev. Tony has talked to David Brunn and he is willing to work a little more. He says he feels better when he works. David has gotten more and more useful as time goes on and as he gets trained to do more. Plus David and Rev. Tony work well together and like each other. It's a very pleasant office environment.
Rev. Peter has talked about wanting to do more and maybe be the "Assistant Minister." Rev. Vincent has also expressed an interest in doing more. Rev. Tony says that ideally he would want an Assistant Minister to be committed to the Sunday Gathering every week. Other Board members thought this was not practical at this time. We will not look for a new hire right now. Saving the salary money would be good as we go through the rest of the "Shelter-in-Place" downturn.
Rev. Kelly's computer and printer belong to the CMC. We paid for them. Perhaps she would like to buy them. This would be ideal as shipping them to San Francisco is impractical and we do not actually have a need for them. It was decided that a nice card should be sent signed by the full CMC Board and the we should send a nice plaque citing gratitude and accomplishments. Rev. Kim will get the card purchased, signed, and sent.
Rev. Kelly will be asked if she would stay on as teacher of her ACIM-1 Class. Originally she said she wanted to let go of it.
CMC Theme Song:
Rev. Rudy wants his song *The Perfect Gift* to be the CMC Theme Song. Rev. Tony asked Rev. Rudy to send us two versions of the song and that we would sing it at the upcoming Sunday Gatherings to see if we like it and how well it is received.
2020 Conference In Los Angeles:
All the refunds have been made. Since the 2nd qtr. bookkeeping is done now, the final tally for this Conference can be done. The $6,830 we received in donations will help this not be a financial loss. There were actual expenses that were incurred.
2021 ACIM Conference:
The Washington Marriott Wardman Park is still closed so a site visit has not been scheduled. Rev. Kelly has been handling communications with the new Director of Sales there, so Rev. Tony needs to reestablish communication. Usually we would officially launch around Labor Day. This might still be a good idea regardless of the travel climate. Board felt we need to be open and possibly delay a full launch since the energy around traveling and gathering in large groups is negative right now.
92 people have transferred their paid in full registrations to Washington D.C. Rev. Tony has a new verbal commitment from Mary Gerard Lenihan to rejoin the line-up. This is good news since she was always a good ticket seller. Rev. Tony still believes as an incentive/concession to the Presenters, and to acknowledge the different travel environment, we should not ask them to buy 10 tickets. Board decided that while we would encourage Presenters to buy a block of tickets at reduced price, we would not require them to buy a block like previous Conferences.
We Have A Good Financial Cushion & Rev. Tony Is Confident:
Rev. Tony emphasized that we have a good financial cushion right now, and he feels confident that we will weather this financial/societal down-turn and emerge as strong, or stronger, than ever.
Meeting Adjourned: 2:15 p.m.
Next Meeting: September 27th, 2020
Respectfully Submitted: Rev. Tony Ponticello, Acting Secretary
