ACIM-2 Ministerial Projects

   Benjamin Onelove has not started his but he talked with Rev. Tony.
      He is planning on starting it. He must complete before he can be ordained.
   Margarita Marinkovich is eligible to be ordained now. 

Sunday Gathering Report

Average attendance since last Board meeting (7.28.19 to 11.17.19 - 17 Gatherings) was 11.8, an increase over last report. This is good. Sunday committee is strong.

Garrick has let go of being lead AV person due to scheduling issues. David Brunn is now the lead AV person. An AV checklist was developed as Rev. Tony asked, and things have been better since. David was instrumental in creating and updating the checklist.

Rev. Tony is adding a lot of new, more modern music. It seems well received.

A CMC Minister asked about speaking at the Sunday Gathering. A discussion was held and tabled at this time. 


Teacher Certification Program using Circle of Atonement Book and Class for "ACIM-1" Equivalent

Unfortunately no progress has been made. There has been no time to work on it. General consensus that there needs to be substantial progress, or we need to discuss canceling this program at this time. Rev. Tony said he would work on it with Deb Canja.

Staff Situation

Becasue of difficulties with scheduling and his move to a distant part of the city, Garrick voluntarily let go of the position and David Brunn has been hired. David will work 8 to 12 hours a week regularly. He has been working about a month now. He is learning many things and is able to do more and more all the time. He works well with Rev. Tony and Rev. Tony likes his energy in the office. Rev. Kelly thinks it has been a positive experience as well. He takes instruction and is reliable and on time. It has been beneficial for the office.

Rev. Tony's salary in now $1400/month and we said we would continue a discussion about this. He is okay with keeping it at this level for now.

Rev. Kelly would like to get paid for her vacation at her discretion. She is now owed 2 weeks that she didn’t take this year. The Board approved her request and all were in agreement.


2019 Boston Conference

This was financially our best since New York City in 2015.

 2020 Conference In Los Angeles

Finalized list of Presenters. 19 Presenters or Presenter Teams (same as San Francisco and Boston). This is 23 people.

Currently 302 tickets bought or accounted for:
199 assigned tickets (22 Pres. 7 Staff)
103 still unassigned block tickets
We have sold 19 of our block of 20.

Rev. Tony feels ticket sales is not "good" for this point in the process. Rev. Kelly and Rev. Tony have discussed if we need to approach the hotel to ask if they would negotiate an addendum for a smaller contract. Rev. Kelly feels we are still in the okay range. Rev. Tony feels we should do EVERYTHING we can to promote sales and has been talking to the Presenters. If too many of the unassigned block tickets get returned before the Conference we will fall under our contract obligations to the Omni L.A. Rev. Tony feels we need ~280 assigned tickets going into the L.A. Conference to meet our contract.

To help promote the Conference Rev. Tony made the largest, most complete slide show we have ever had, currently 137 slides with captions. He has put the names of as many attendees as possible for the 1st time. Only Presenters usually named before.

Rev. Tony is going to do a promotion with the Presenters and encourage them to sell their tickets. Rev. Rudy feels like we should consider the Business Model of the Conference and take a larger fee.

2021 ACIM Conference

Negotiations with Omni Washington D.C. stalled. Rev. Kelly started negotiations with Washington Marriott Wardman Park. Negotiations proceeded better and Rev. Kelly did an excellent job as initial point person. We signed a final contract on October 30, 2019. Rev. Kelly and Rev. Tony both feel we have an excellent contract.

Since Rev. Kelly was active in every part of this negotiation, Rev. Tony feels she now could handle this entire complex process if she needed to which is good. The CMC's functioning should not be so dependent on Rev. Tony. No one person should be indispensable to our functioning. The room cost for this hotel is substantially less than The Omni in L.A. ($189 vs. $229) so cost to attendees for the whole event would be substantially less. Our costs will also be less since we require many sleeping room for Presenters and Staff. Plus our sleeping room guarantee is less (525 vs. 600) than in Los Angeles.
