Sunday Gathering Report

Average attendance since last Board meeting (1.27.19 to 3.17.19 - 8 Gatherings) was 11.5, a slight increase over last report. Energy feels good. Sunday committee is strong.

We have made progress in our technical issues. The Verizon WiFi device is working well. The quality of the LiveStream has been better.

Proposal for Teacher Certification Program using Circle of Atonement Book and class for "ACIM-1" equivalent.

ACIM-2 student Deb Canja has a proposal she has developed with Rev. Tony's help to offer a more extensive training program that would take 2 or 3 years and certify people as "CMC Teachers of ACIM." She believes there is a market for younger, entrepreneurs, and life coaches who are looking for credentials and interested in incorporating ACIM into their practices. The program will be more involved than our current ministerial program and will cost more. Deb. C. would help in some aspects of the program which would be her ministerial project. She believes she has a few people who would already be interested. The program would bundle the ACIM Conferences and CMC membership into it from the start. Students would be required to attend our yearly Conferences and be members from the beginning.

Since the last meeting a Zoom meeting was held with Deb Canja with 6 Board members participating. It was discussed that a couple of Board members expressed their support of the proposal in front of Deb Canja. This creates the situation where she may be able to figure out who supported the proposal and who opposed it. This is not the way it should happen. In future similar situations the Board members should remain neutral.

Motion: To accept the Proposal for Teacher Certification submitted by Deb Canja. Passed. 4 in favor. 1 against.

Staff Situation

Staff situation continues to not be adequate. However, Rev. Tony feels we are maintaining. Rev. Kelly feels like she is falling behind, "sinking," as we approach the Boston Conference and the work ramps up. She is hoping that this coming Sep. and Oct. will afford her adequate time to catch up. She is currently working more than she would like to.

Doing ACIM Conferences every year is a substantial increase in the time and work required. We have made no progress in an Inclusive Language version.

2019 Boston Conference

Currently 443 tickets sold. We have a band now for the Saturday night dance party. Two Presenters have dropped out, but we have replaced them. Tina Louise Spalding dropped out and has been replaced by Dr. Robert Rosenthal from the FIP. Mary Gerard Lenihan has dropped out but she has been replaced by Kevin Rice.

A discussion was had about an enrollee who had 2 depoits and wanted to now apply both to their 1 ticket since the other person was no longer coming. The Board decided to adhere with established policy and not put the 2 deposits towards the 1 ticket.

Discussion about having a LiveStream for the Sunday Finale in Boston which Garrick could then play for any who come to the San Francisco Sunday Gathering. We could buy a video projector for a computer. Cost would be about $200. This might be good for other uses. Rev. Tony was authorized to do this if feasible.

CMC Publishing Inclusive Language Version of ACIM (The Original Edition)

No progress on the project since last meeting. Rev. Tony has not had the time to start and he doesn't see any time opening up soon. It's in Holy Spirit's hands.

2020 Conference In Los Angeles

Rev. Kelly and Rev. Tony recently took a trip to the Omni Los Angeles where we are having the 2020 Conference. Both were very favorably impressed. It is a wonderful facility and the staff we would work with is very good. Rev. Tony and Rev. Kelly also went on several of the projected Tourist Excursions including Dodger Stadium. There could very well be a Dodger's baseball game in Los Angeles over Memorial Day Weekend in 2020, just like there will be a Red Sox game in Boston this year.

2021 ACIM Conference

More brainstorming about ACIM Conference for 2021 was done. There is a large Omni Hotel in Washington D.C. and we are having a good experience working with the Omni chain. Everyone thought Washington D.C. was a better location than New Orleans. We will explore having a 2021 Conference in Washington DC on Memorial Day weekend Thu. May 27, thru Sun. May 30 2021. Mon. May 31 2021 is Memorial Day.

Meeting adjourned ~2:30 p.m.

Next Meeting

Would naturally be Sun. May 26, 2019 but we will need to reschedule since most of us will be in Boston then. It will have to be at least a couple of weeks after that. Sun. Jun. 9 or Sun. Jun. 16 are possibilities.

Respectfully Submitted: Rev. Tony Ponticello acting Secretary
