OLD BUSINESS:
New CMC Board Members:
We need to have between 7 to 15 Board Members and are supposed to have an odd number. Currently 8. Two posible Supporting Members were discussed. Keep on Agenda.
Rev. Kelly’s Parsonage Compensation:
Motion: CMC give Rev. Kelly a $100 parsonage cost of living increase, starting August 2017. Total Parsonage Allowance will be $2,600 / month. Unanimous
NEW BUSINESS:
2018 Conference:
242 tickets sold or people otherwise enrolled
8 Staff
26 Presenters
208 Sold Tickets
This is below projections. Rev. Tony has started a conversation with hotel about adjusting contract. Rev. Tony has decided not to raise price as cost seems to be a major hindrance to getting enrollees. Current price is $549. Discussion about finding ways to produce less expensive Conferences. Eliminating meals was considered.
Discussion about adding different Presenters to future line-ups.
Sunday Gathering at 875 Post:
Attendance has been irregular. We did have better 1st 3 weeks in July: 7.2 = 12 / 7.9 = 11 / 7.16 = 14. Rev. Kelly and Rev. Tony talked about feeling lack of support for the Sunday Gathering by the congregation. We have let go of musicians for the time being. CMC Congregation singing 2 songs.
Suggestion of moving Sunday Gathering to 1353 Bush in the Music Studios. This would begin integration of CMC into Music City framework. Pros and cons discussed. Rev. Kelly and Rev. Tony will look at Rev. Rudy’s suggestion of rehearsal studio 18.
Address Issue with 3006 Office:
We did get a SF Business Registration and a SFMTA Parking Permit. It was a “miracle.” We should be receiving a Resale Permit any day. We have confirmed that it was sent by phone. A hole has been cut to look at foundation as per structural engineer’s request. Architect has sent a proposal to Rev. Rudy to consider.
New Class:
Motion: Rev. Rudy start a open format ACIM/ACOL class in the business office at 1353 Bush Street Saturday mornings at 10:15 a.m. Unanimous.
He believes this will be a good segue into us moving the CMC into Music City. He would need back-up teachers because he is sometimes out of town.
ACIM Gather:
Our partnership continues. We rarely get donations from our Sunday appeals, although we did get $100 recently. Lyn Johnson tells us that summers are traditionally slow with low attendance but our programs do get listeners.
Sunday Gathering
Rev. Roxie
Rev. Kelly
Rev. Josh & Rev. Mary
Rev. Kimmy
Rev. Tony
David Fishman
Lyn Johnson
Rev. Joan Goss should be starting soon but there are tech issues
David Murdock may be starting one.
New Vision for CMC:
Need to set date for fall retreat for us to create a new “vision” and new Mission Statement for CMC. Rev. Tony has been working on ideas. If at all possible every Board Member should attend. Going out of San Francisco to get out of usual mode of perceiving would be ideal. It would also be very good to get a picture of the full CMC Board of Directors. It would be nice to be able to show “real” people.
Ordination Report:
An phone ordination for 6 people is scheduled for Sat. 7.29 at 10:30 a.m.
Meeting Adjourned 3:15 p.m.
Next Meeting would be Sunday September 24, 2017. Please put this in your calendars so that you don’t make other plans.
Respectfully submitted: Rev. Tony Ponticello acting Secretary
