OLD BUSINESS:
New CMC Board Members:
We need to have between 7 to 15 Board Members. Currently we have the minimum of 7. 3 prospects were considered. Should consider a woman to keep a gender balance. Keep on Agenda.
NEW BUSINESS:
2018 Conference:
Will start pro-active publicity and enrollment as soon as James Twyman's Easter ACIM Conference is over. Price increase will be after June 30, 2017. The Holiday Inn is still deciding if we can have a "Direct Billing" account. Rev. Tony has to give them more information.
Sunday Gathering at 875 Post
Things continue to go well. Attendance has leveled off at around same level as it was at 2269 Market. Getting adequate musicians is a problem. We are currently paying $50 / week. More people are joining us on ACIM Gather and people are watching the YouTube videos.
A New TWOM Class:
Julie Vance is now in our Minister-in-Training program. She would like to start a class using The Way of Mastery (TWOM) and have that be her project. She has submitted a proposal.
Motion to approve Julie Vance’s proposal to start a TWOM class. Class will be weekly and focus on the ways ACIM and TWOM are complementary. All proceed to go to CMC. Julie can choose phone conferencing or Zoom. Unanimous
Address Issue with 3006 Office:
The address issue with 3006 Buchanan is more complicated than anticipated. Rev. Tony is working with Rev. Rudy and Chandler Properties (the authorized leasing agent) on this but the issues are complex. Our Seller's Permit, Business License, Non-Profit Bulk Mail permit, San Francisco Property Tax Exemption, & Residential Parking Permit are all in jeopardy.
Consensus that we need a legal address for the 3006 Buchanan office and if we can not get one we will have to consider moving. Rev. Tedosio has offered to contribute $1,000 to this process. Rev. Tony will get back to Chandler Properties and Rev. Rudy. Keep item on the Agenda.
Guidelines for Facebook Supporting Member Group:
Several Supporting Members have logged complaints that some posts on the Facebook Group seem inappropriate. We currently have no guidelines for posting. Should we enact some? Rev. Tony read posts by Rev. Roxie that triggered the complaints. Board wants Rev. Tony to talk to Rev. Roxie and explain that she should choose words with more sensitivity to Catholics and others who still have connections to established religions. As a member of the CMC Board she represents the Board, and the Board would like more civility and inclusiveness in her posts.
The Challenge of Bookkeeping:
Rev. Kelly will help Rev. Tony with the CMC Bookkeeping. They will explore downloading transactions directly from Bank of America web site and importing them directly into Quickbooks. For the time being they will work together on this.
Rev. Roxie Wants to Start a Jeshua's Trilogy Class:
Rev. Roxie has mentioned this several times. We have no written proposal and Rev. Roxie is not at this meeting. Possible class put on hold indefinitely at this time.
30th Birthday Acknowledgement:
On March 8, 2017 we had special Sunday Gathering to acknowledge our 30th Birthday. Cake and champagne were served. 15 people attended. 11 went to lunch afterwards.
Next Meeting should be Sunday May 28, 2017:
However this is Memorial Day weekend so meeting will be changed to Sunday June 4, 1:30 p.m. at CMC office 3006 Buchanan St. Please put this in your calendars so that you don’t make other plans. (Meeting changed back to Sunday May 28 because there was greater availability and there important issues that need to be discussed a.s.a.p.)
Respectfully Submitted,
Rev. Tony Ponticello, Acting CMC Secretary
