Because of the work overload due to lack of an Assistant Minister, Rev. Tony was unable to complete a Supporting Member report.
Contract renegotiation with The Rio Hotel and Casino:
Rev. Rudy and Rev. Tony said that there were positive indications from the Rio that they would be willing to renegotiate the contract for the 2016 Conference. They will have more details forthcoming after a scheduled phone call following Thanksgiving.
Enrollment for the Las Vegas Conference
Rev. Tony reported we had a good increase in enrollment when we went through the Nov. 15 deadline for the price increase ($499 to $549). Currently about 400 enrolled. While this is still behind projections the enrollment situation is better than before. Rev. Tony is still concerned about the Presenters who purchased large blocks of tickets not selling their blocks. Our current enrollment number still includes the large blocks who haven’t sold their tickets and/or have yet to give us their enrollment data.
Rev. Tony Should Make A Public Apology
Rev. Peter requests that Rev. Tony write a public apology for comments made at the 2015 New York Conference Sunday Service about the FIP version of ACIM. Rev. Tony had no objection to this if it was the will of the CMC Board. A lively discussion was held. Why potentially offend a large majority of ACIM students who study the FIP book? Was this truly necessary, and wouldn't it just get people agitated again? Why would we censor what someone said?
Motion: Rev. Tony would write a short, honest, and clear public apology to be sent to the CMC’s full list. The apology would be reviewed by the CMC Board before it was sent. 7 yes, 2 abstain. The motion carries.
Presenters at Las Vegas Conference
Rev. Roxie wants us to consider Jan from Shanti Cristo as a speaker representing The Way of Mastery. The Board agreed to inquire if Jan was available for the Las Vegas Conference.
The Executive Minister, Rev. Tony’s, Salary
Rev. Tony requested that we reassess his salary of $3,000/month because of the current financial situation and other factors. The Board discussed this and considered the reasons and options.
Motion: Rev. Tony’s salary will become $2,000 per month effective immediately. This would apply to his October salary which currently has not been paid. Unanimous
Travel Compensation for Las Vegas Conference Staff
Rev. Daniel wanted to discuss travel compensation for Las Vegas Conference Staff. Discussion held about the need to keep Las Vegas expenses as low as possible. However it is was also discussed that having experienced Staff was essential because of the hard work involved, and some Staff had different financial situations than others.
Motion: Las Vegas Conference Staff would alert Rev. Tony if they felt they needed their travel reimbursed. CMC would reimburse those people only. Unanimous.
Rev. Heather as Staff at the Las Vegas Conference
Rev. Heather has asked to be Staff for the Las Vegas Conference. After discussion it was clear that Rev. Kelly would be taking Rev. Heather’s place and there was no need for any more Conference Staff. Rev. Tony would inform Rev. Heather.
Monthly CMC Board Meetings Discussed
Rev. Tony wanted to discuss the possible need for monthly CMC Board meetings considering the ongoing issues about the Las Vegas Conference and that we will have a new Assistant Minister. It was decided that we would to keep to bimonthly meetings.
Meeting Adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
Next Meeting Scheduled January 24, 2016.
Respectfully Submitted, Peter Graham, CMC Board Secretary
