Rev. Tony reported that Marilyn Grant, CMC Supporting Member and ACIM-2 student, will be calling former CMC Supporting Members and encouraging them to pledge again.

A discussion took place about why Supporting Members drop off. Most tell Rev. Tony it is for financial reasons but he suspects it also has to do with them not getting what they wanted from us. Some discussion on surveying them at a later date.

Fundraising

Rev. Tony reported on the influence that the book Not Your Parents’ Offering Plate had on him. The book was provided to him, and all board members, by Charles Mawson. Rev. Tony now realizes that he is the chief fundraiser for the church because he is responsible for bringing the CMC’s vision forward. We have to be very proactive about fundraising in 3 areas: pledges, big donations, and legacy donations.

There was discussion of Board members calling the big donors of the CMC, thanking them and asking them if their was anything we could do to improve.

There were some other ideas proposed:

•  Annual Fundraising Event (Rev. Vincent)

•  Hold a "Thank You" event for Supporting Members (Rev. Adrienne)

•  Video Sunday talks and put on website (Rev. Rudy)

•  Start a charitable outreach / community program (Bart)

•  Pitch members of the ACIM classes to become Supporting Members

Rev. Rita ’s resignation from CMC Board

Rev. Tony read Rev. Rita’s resignation letter to the Board. Primarily due to increased work responsibilities. Rev. Tony will send a formal "Thank You" for her service. Rev. Rita felt she could not meet monthly Sunday Service commitment at this time. Rev. Tedosio brought up the idea that we eliminate the monthly CMC Sunday Service for Board member. Discussion followed.

Motion: The requirement for local CMC Board Members to attend one Sunday Service per month be eliminated. Unanimous.

Urtext Class

Proposal presented for Urtext class for either Tuesday or Thursday evenings. The Text will be read at a casual pace and priced within the current CMC teleconference cost structure. Rev. Judy Junghans will lead the class with Christine Yoffe (Practitioner) assisting.

Motion: Approve proposal for Urtext class but with the current class price structure. Unanimous

ACIM-2 Class:

Motion: Rev. Marci will teach a second ACIM-2 class beginning in January of 2012 on Monday evenings with time TBD. Unanimous.

Motion: The teacher and ACIM-2 student will create an individualized ministerial project to fulfill their obligation. Unanimous.

Rev. Jennifer Hadley Workshop

Motion: Approve a February 4, 2012 workshop by Jennifer Hadley named, “Living from Vision -- Walking the Talk”.  6 yays, 1 nay, 2 abstentions. Motion passes with majority vote.

Pianist and other Sunday Service changes:

Sue Crosman has agreed to do the Sunday Service Music for $75.00 per service. It is going very well. Sunday Service attendance is up.

The Board discussed the status of the CMC 2013 Conference. It was determined that more discussion time is needed to address some concerns.

Proposed titles: Executive Minister and Associate Minister

Tabled until next meeting.
